Id was raised in L.A., but has called San Diego his home for the last 7 years. Id’s ability to translate prose into flows creates a style heard nowhere else. His vocal presence has the power of ten men, while his carefully crafted verses offer a vulnerability that shows his sincerity and connection with his words. This unique quality allows him to tackle topics ranging from genocide to heart break. His non-traditional verse creates a sense of vertigo that gives context to the turbulent topics and times within which he muses and makes this music. MC/Producer Id has fronted many projects ranging from punk rock to hip hop and continues to pursue the parallels of raw expression. His most recent album entitled “Inkspots”, is a concept album that travels from the beginning of this great country to its end. Id’s high-powered beats and fighting words challenge the conventions found in music and in life and leave listeners thinking about more than just the politics of hip hop. Id is a part of the SD hip-hop crew Circle Empire. On top of being an MC/Producer, Id has also made a name for himself in the spoken word scene and can be found performing at Slam-poetry competitions throughout SD. Id is currently recording for his new project “Genius of Soul”, a live soul-jazz-hip-hop band committed to preserving the essence of soul throughout all genres of music.
